Hangzhou animation Luo Bao Bei was nominated for the 2018 International Emmy ®Kids awards!

On October 15, 2018, the Academy of Television Arts and Sciences announced the nominees for the 2018 International Emmy ®Kids awards at the Mipcom press briefing. Luo Bao Bei, an animated film produced by Hangzhou local animation company Magic Mall for preschool children, was shortlisted for the preschool section of International Emmy ®Kids awards.

International Emmy awards, an important part of the Emmy Awards, are the awards of the highest honor in the international television sector for production outside the United States. They are separated into the six categories: TV series, documentaries, art documentaries, pop arts, art performances, children and adolescents programs.

In this session, 28 works from 13 countries were nominated. Luo Bao Bei was the only Chinese original production shortlisted, an evidence of the international market’s affirmation of the value of Luo Bao BEi IP, as well as the high recognition of the Chinese original creation power.

Luo Bao Bei shows a lot of family culture and neighborhood relations with Chinese characteristics, letting the world understand the ordinary life of Chinese families.

As Avril Blondelot of Eurodata TV said at the Mipjunior Cannes Television Festival, “Although it tells the story of a Chinese girl discovering things around her for children between 4 and 7, Luo Bao Bei is unique in showing the daily life of modern Chinese families. It has successfully combined traditional Chinese culture with British humor and charisma."
